Followers of Sant Nirankari Mission, a spiritual organisation, initiated a cleanliness drive at the Ludhiana Railway Station and the Civil Hospital here today.

The followers celebrate “Guru Pooja Diwas” every year on this day to mark the birthday of Baba Hardev Singh.

Volunteers belonging to all age-groups, including elderly, young and even children, worked with dedication to clean the Railway Station and the Civil Hospital. This drive was carried out with the idea of creating awareness about hygiene and environment among the residents of the city.

Rev HS Chawla, zonal in charge, Sant Nirankari Mandal, Ludhiana branch, participated in the drive and gave a message that such campaigns were organized under the guidance of Baba Hardev Singh across the country with the motive of making surroundings neat, clean and green. He added that pollution must be removed both from outside and inside to live a peaceful life.

Meanwhile, a special samagam was organised at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Sangowal, on the theme of bridging humanity and for spreading the message of love, peace, humanity and tolerance.
