Abohar, April 12
Simranjit Kaur (in pic), daughter of Rajpura village-based government schoolteacher Gurjit Singh Sandhu, has been selected for the Youth World Championship (Archery) to be held on June 6-June 15 in the US. As many as 600 competitors from 60 countries are expected at the event, which will be hosted by the National Field Archery Association Foundation at Yankton, US.
Despite a holiday, Abohar’s LRS DAV Senior Secondary School staff accorded a warm welcome to its student Simranjit yesterday and prayed for her success.
Simranjit said, “I am hopeful of hitting the bull’s eye in the US.” — OC
