Singer-turned actor Harbhajan Mann was in city today for the promotion of his upcoming movie “Gaddar – The Traitor”.
He said he had a special connection with the city as his journey as a professional singer started after he performed for the first time during the Prof Mohan Singh Mela in October 1992 here.
“I have good memories from the city and have received a lot of love from fans here,” the singer said.
“Promotion of movies has become a necessity nowadays and this is the reason why I am putting in all-out efforts,” he said.
He said the movie’s team had visited various cities in India and abroad. He said places such as Brisbane, Birmingham, London, Sydney, Melbourne, Toronto, Vancouver and New York among others were visited for the movie’s promotion.
“We are touching new milestones with this movie. There used to be a time when we used to feel proud that we have 100 prints for a Punjabi movie. But for this movie, we have 100 prints just for overseas market,”
he said.
“My movie ‘Jee Aya Nu’ proved to be a milestone for Punjabi cinema and this movie is also going to catapult the Punjabi cinema to a new level,” Mann said.
“The shooting of the movie was held in Mohali, Goa, Chadigarh and Toronto. Apart from me, the songs have been sung by Shipra Goel, Dr Zeus, Jaidev,” he said.
