Popular television actor Karam Rajpal paid a visit to his home at Dugri today.
The actor, who moved to Mumbai five years ago, said the support of parents and family was important to succeed in the television and the film industry.
He said he never wanted to become an actor as a youngster, but it was the dream of his businessman and politician father Amarjit Singh Rajpal to see him become an actor.
“So I am living my father’s dream,” he said. He is playing the lead role in a television series “Mere Angne Mein” on Star Plus. He said five years later, he was happy that his father made a right decision for him.
Karam said he did his schooling from DAV School and GRD Academy from the city, before pursuing his BBA and joining an acting school in Mumbai.
Amarjit Singh said noted lyricist and director Gulzar was his uncle. “During my stay with Gulzar ji, the acting bug bit me, but my father did not allow me to become an actor,” he said.
“That is why I have given Karam all support I could. And he has proved himself and made me proud,” he said.
Giving advice to youths who want to join the film industry in Mumbai, he said: “”It was not an easy place and there were challenges and struggle to begin with. But one sails through if you have your family’s support,” he said.
