Three days after the police conducted raids at the institutes run by Adesh Foundation in Bathinda and its Muktsar headquarters, its chairman today refuted allegations of financial irregularities. Terming the accusation of Rs 100-crore financial embezzlement as baseless, Adesh group chairman HS Gill said some individuals with vested and nefarious interests are trying to malign the institution. Without naming anyone, in a written communiqué, he said the allegations would be proved wrong at an appropriate time.

A member of the foundation, Surinder Sidhu, had lodged a police complaint alleging financial irregularities. He accused Gill of transferring crores of rupees using fraudulent means.
