Adviser revisits Sector 32

A day after Chandigarh Tribune highlighted how MC officials did not pay heed to UT Adviser’s directions to repair certain shortcomings pointed out by the Adviser during his Sector 32 visit, UT Adviser Vijay Kumar Dev once again visited the areas in Sector 32 today.

He inspected blocked sewer lines and cleaning of storm water drain in Sector 32-D, which had now been cleaned by MC officials. He also visited the site where an electricity wire was hanging, which was also removed by the MC officials.

Earlier yesterday, the Adviser had directed the MC officials to remove the shortcomings spotted by him at the earliest. But Chandigarh Tribune team during his yesterday’s evening inspection had found that no directions of the Adviser were followed.

Sources revealed that after Chandigarh Tribune raised the issue with the Adviser last evening, he directed officials to clean the area. Thereafter, the MC officials today cleaned the area, sources added.

The UT Adviser said he would continue such inspections in the coming days in different sectors.

Meanwhile, he also issued directions to the MC officials to improve their functioning.
