A collection of poems by Afroz Mir — Molil Khaab — was released at a function held at the B.Ed College auditorium here today.
Minister for Public Works, Floriculture, Gardens and Parks Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, MLA Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami, former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir and Dr GQ Allaqband were present on the occasion.
Bukhari praised the writer for his work and said the collection would go a long way in promoting Kashmiri language in the state.
The minister also said the government had taken several initiatives for promotion of cultural activities in the state.
Afroz Mir is the son former Agriculture Minister GH Mir and belongs to Tangmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Various literary figures, poets and a large number of journalists were also present on the occasion.
