He joined AAP in the presence of Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann and in charge of Punjab party affairs Sanjay Singh.

Arora, who had unsuccessfully contested the Assembly elections on Congress ticket from Sunam in 2007 and 2012, said he had been feeling suffocated in the party. He said he had joined AAP to serve the masses and it would be a tribute to his late father former minister Bhagwan Dass Arora.

Rajinder Deepa, former secretary of the PPCC, and husband of Arora’s sister, alleged Arora had backstabbed the Congress as the party had given him ticket six times consecutively.

AAP’s Punjab affairs in charge Sanjay Singh and Bhagwant Mann welcomed Arora. Sanjay Singh said Arora had joined the AAP to fight against corruption and save Punjab. He said Arora had joined without any condition.
