Ambala, may 21
Satisfied with facilities at the Ambala Cantonment Civil Hospital, Health Minister Anil Vij today said more facilities would be provided.
“Over the past few months, the rush at the out-patient department (OPD) has increased, indicating that people are getting better aid in the hospital. A few months back, it was used only as a referral centre, shifting patients to better-equipped hospitals,” he told the media after visiting the hospital.
The minister said facilities such as homeopathic, yoga and panchkarma would be added to the hospital.
Vij reiterated the hospital was soon going to have a five-storey building equipped with advanced medical facilities, for which the state government had approved Rs39.13 crore. “It will have four operation theatres, six lifts and special arrangements for the stay of patients’ attendants,” he said, adding that “it will be ensured that medical services will not be disrupted during the construction of the building”.
The department, the minister said, had sanctioned 47 posts.
