The Army organised a cricket tournament at Agsi village in Mahore tehsil, in close coordination with the local village sports body and the Agsi Youth Association, to promote sports among the youth of the remote areas.
The weeklong tournament, featuring 16 teams from remote villages of Mahore and those located along the higher reaches of Pir Panjal ranges, concluded here today. The tournament was conducted on the occasion of the 70th Independence Day celebrations and attracted a large number of youth towards the spirit of game. The team from Khour village lifted the winner’s trophy defeating the Gulabgarh team. Mohd Yaseen Malik of Gulabgarh was declared the player of the tournament.—TNS
