With the motive of creating awareness against social evils such as female foeticide and drug abuse, renowned art organisation Lok Kala Manch, Mandi Mullanpur, staged two plays at the orphanage being run by Swami Ganga Nand Bhuri Wale International Foundation at Talwandi Khurd village near Jagraon.
Artistes of Lok Kala Manch staged two famous dramas — ‘Mitti Rudan Kare’ and ‘Babul Da Dil’ under the direction of acclaimed writer Harkesh Chaudhry and Surinder Kumar Sharma. They were appropriately supported by some of the abandoned children who also enacted in the dramas highlighting the social evils of female foeticide and drug abuse. While the drama ‘Mitti Rudan Kare’ is based on the problem of drug abuse among the people specially the young generation, ‘Babul Da Dil’ on the other hand highlights the social evil of female foeticide.
In the end, Swami Shankra Nand Maharaj Bhuri Wale felicitated the artists of Lok Kala Manch. While speaking during the occasion, he applauded the efforts being made by Lok Kala Manch in creating awareness against social evils.
