The Jammu and Kashmir Gurdwara Parbandhak Board has condemned the attack on a gurdwara in Kishtwar town by some miscreants and has demanded stern action against them.

Addressing a press conference here, Gurdwara Parbhandak Board chairman TS Wazir said some goons, led by Chander Kant, vandalised the gurdwara on Thursday, beat up granthi and even committed sacrilegious acts.

He alleged that these goons were doing this on the behest of the local MLA.

“We urge the government, in general, and BJP, in particular, to act immediately and book these goons to restore confidence of Sikh community in the government. We believe that only forces inimical to peace, tranquillity and development are behind such acts. We also appeal to peace-loving citizens to register their protest to isolate such forces and safeguard the secular credentials,” Wazir added.
