Chandigarh, October 9
We must avoid bitter and acrimonious tongue. There is a dire need to tame our tongue, which generally runs riot. Control of tongue can save us from many crisis.
This was stated by Nirankari sect head Savinder Hardev during a samagam organised by the Sant Nirankari Mission at Mauli Jagran Road, Mani Majra, here today. About 1 lakh devotees gathered from the tricity and adjoining states of Punjab, Haryana Himachal Pradesh and Delhi in the samagam.
This was her first visit to the city after her proclamation as the spiritual head of the Sant Nirankari Mission on May 17 this year.
Recalling the words of her predecessor Hardev Singh, the Nirankari sect head said words spoken by a saintly person were comparable to a bag of sugar that give out sugar from wherever it is cut.
“Words spoken rashly or in anger are not relished by anyone, whereas language of love is understood by everyone in the world,” she told the gathering.
She said: “As the leaves of a tree turn to the direction of the wind, likewise one should always go with the flow of words spoken by the spiritual head from time to time. Thereby we can ensure abiding happiness and harmony in life as soft and sweet tongue generally scores”.
Local in-charge of the Mission Devinder Bhajni expressed gratitude for blessings of the sect head on the behalf of the thousands of devotees who were elated in her presence.
Dr BS Cheema, zonal in-charge, Chandigarh, Mohinder Singh, organiser, Govind Singh, chairman, CAPB, CL Gulati, secretary, headquarters, Sant Nirankari Mandal, Delhi, and Joginder Kaur, member in-charge, North India, branches were also present.
