Baba Ramdev terms drug row a political conspiracy

A campaign is under way to malign the image of Punjab that it is a state where a majority of youths are into drugs, but this is not the ground reality. This was stated by yoga guru Baba Ramdev while delivering a special lecture and a yoga session in Panjab University today.

He said Punjab youths were full of energy and into constructive works, which were not being highlighted. Reacting on the media query that the Congress is opposing the big yoga events organised by the BJP, he said why the Congress was not organising yoga camps in the state where they were ruling and taking the credit. He suggested that the national parties should also come forward to organise such events and take credits rather than criticising the ruling government in the Centre.

The yoga guru assured the PU faculty and students, who turned up for the camp, that he would visit the campus again for conducting another yoga sessions soon. He added that next time, the camp should be organised in open on the campus and with more gathering.

Sharing his views on junk food, exercise and lifestyle of the youths, he said regular yoga was the solution to all the problems which this generation was facing.

The special lecture and yoga session were organised by the PU Dean Students Welfare and the PU Directorate of Sports as part of their outreach programme. A large number of students, teachers, staff members, alumni and their family members attended it.

While calling upon the students to do bigger things in life, Baba Ramdev urged them to become job creator rather than job seekers. He underlined the importance of hard work and recalled his student days at a village government school.

Ramdev motivated the students to do yoga everyday and adopt it as a way of life. He highlighted the important role of yoga in having a better health, stamina and building character .

Meanwhile, Jain Muni Vinay Kumar Alok underlined the importance of discipline and good health in life in his lecture.
