‘Baithak’ on Tiku’s sculptures held

A monthly programme, “Baithak”, was organised today where slide show of the sculptures of Padamshree Rajinder Tiku, a well known and international awardee, was presented.
Painters, artists, sculptors, writers and intellectuals participated in “Baithak”. After the presentation and explanation by the artist, an interaction session was organised where the participants discussed various aspects of Padamshree Rajinder Tiku’s monumental sculptures.
The sculptures displayed during the show were the ones created by him in the recent past, collected by various collectors or installed in various cities of the country like Mumbai, Gwalior, Varanasi, Jammu, Chandigarh and Udaipur.
Various aspects were revealed through the programme about the sculptures of Rajinder Tiku. The idioms and material used, ideology and concepts behind the making of these sculptures, his techniques applied in these works and the interpretations of the works that was relevant to the circumstances under which the works were created and relationship of theme with the locations where those were installed came in the process of the interaction.
Those who participated in the ‘Baithak’ programme included Supreme Court advocate Narender Bakaya, Gokal Dembi, a senior painter, Padamshree Rajinder Tiku, Jang S Verman, painter and columnist on art and culture, Ratan Lal Shaant and Avtar Mota, both writers.
