Kangra, August 25
Transport Minister GS Bali today said more than 12 computerised driving schools would be established in each district of the state and each school will get a subsidy of Rs 1 crore from the Government of India. The minister flagged off a 25-seater AC bus service from the local bus stand here. He said the bus would connect Dharamsala from Shimla.
The bus will start from Dharamsala at 5.00 am every day and will have limited stops, including Jwalamukhi, Nadaun, Hamirpur, Bota, Ghumarwin and Gaghus. The same bus service will start from Shimla at 4.30 pm and reach Dharamsala at 11 pm daily.
Despite being a luxury bus, the fare would be 30 per cent more than the ordinary bus, he said. An air-conditioned bus service would start between Chamba and Shimla soon.
He added that volvo buses would soon be affordable as the state government was contemplating slashing down bus fares on all routes. He said the Government of India would push 1,000 fully equipped ambulances on the national and state highways. He said Himachal would get at least 50 such ambulances to be stationed on the national and state highways. — OC
