The Himachal Pradesh All-Employee Federation has hailed the announcement of the state government for restoring batchwise recruitment of ayurdvedic doctors in the Health Department.
Dr Sanjiv Guleria, senior vice-president, in a statement here said Ayurvedic Minister Karan Singh had initiated efforts for the restoration of this practice. He asserted that batchwise recruitments would accord job opportunities to a large number of unemployed ayurvedic graduates in the state.
Guleria urged the state government to give the pay scale of 15,600-39,100 to contract ayurvedic doctors on the pattern of veterinary doctors. He said after the suspension of batchwise recruitments of ayurvedic doctors, a lot of resentment had been brewing among unemployed ayurvedic graduates as they had no job opportunities in the neighbouring states such as Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir through the state public service commission (SPSC) due to stringent eligibility conditions laid down by these states.
