Belgium embassy official visits city

Christophe Van Overstraeten, Trade and Investment Commissioner at the Belgium embassy in India, was in the city today for a business trip.

He came to the city for the first time and visited offices of some of the companies such as Trident Group, Nova Bicycles and Forex Fasteners to find out opportunities for investment in Belgium.

He also inaugurated Belfrance, a cafe that uses Belgium chocolates. He said it was pleasing that such a cafe had been opened in the city. “It is good for Belgium that such cafes are opening in India,” he said.

He said the cafes offering Belgian waffles had also come up in Bangalore and Chennai.

Talking about the investment prospects in Belgium, he said the was strategically located, offering good connectivity, fiscal incentives and qualified workforce apart from having the headquarters of NATO and the European Union.
