Prakash Chand, Executive Director, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), today said the company had been playing a pivotal role in catering to electrical equipment need of the country since 1964.

Addressing the gathering at the foundation day of BHEL here, he said time-bound, quality-based production had been the mantra of the company, which had been accorded the Maha Ratna’ status last year.

“BHEL is committed to development of the nation. We are inching towards the defence sector, besides traditional base of power and electricity generation equipment,” he said.

Former Executive Director AK Gupta, Roor Singh, Krishna Devi, Karan Singh and labour leader JS Shrivastava were honoured for their outstanding services to BHEL.

AMV Yugandhar, SK Aggarwal, AK Gupta, Abhishek Garg, Sonal Khaiwal, Rajiv Maniktala along with senior officials, employees, representatives of the labour union, federation and associations were present on the occasion.
