Dehradun, January 5
Representatives of the district Bheshaj Cooperative Union involved in collecting and selling medicinal herbs met Chief Minister Harish Rawat at the Bijapur Guest House here today.
The union presented a memorandum to the CM stating their demands that include getting sole rights to distribute herbs, formation of a directorate for all organisations related to herbs and to get a separate mandi to sell products related to herbs.
The CM assured them of taking a positive action on their demands and said his government was committed to development of herbs in the state. Rawat said herb cultivation can be developed as a source of primary income and new schemes are being designed to promote herb cultivation.
Members of the organisation: Rajesh Sharma, Harshpal Misra, KS Rana, Arvind Negi, Ankur Rauthan, Harshpal Mishra and the CM’s media in charge Surendra Kumar were also present.
