Amritsar, June 6
In an embarrassing moment during the Operation Bluestar anniversary event held at the Akal Takht, Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale's son Isher Singh didn’t accept the honour.
As a part of the ceremony, kin of Akal Takht martyrs were honouned by the Akal Takht Jathedar, as per the precedent.
While his name was repeatedly announced to receive the award, Ishar Singh, who was sitting in the audience at the ground floor, had left the place and could not be located then.
Sources say he deliberately skipped receiving the honour from Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, reportedly due to the controversial Panthic decision taken by the latter.

Sources said Isher Singh attended the Damdami Taksal's "Shaheedi Samagam" held at Mehta Chowk, 48 km from here.
