Faridabad, January 19
Bike taxi service has been launched in the city for the first time. Faridabad is the second city in the NCR where the service has been started.
“Consumers will be charged Rs four per km after the initial charge of Rs 10 for availing the facility,” said Nishat Rizvi, media spokesperson of Baxi, the company which has launched the operation.
She said Baxi was India’s first on demand motorbike taxi provider. It had successfully started its services in Gurgaon last month.
Since the start of its commercial operations on December 1, 2015, Baxi has increased its fleet size from 23 motorbike taxis to 60.
“Initially, we focused on making customers aware about the Baxi brand and educated the prospective Baxi Buddies (motorbike drivers) that they will partner with us as entrepreneurs rather than employees. We are very excited about the overwhelming response in the market and will now be focusing on the growth,” said Ashutosh Johri, one of the founders of Baxi.
