Jammu, October 7
Making a scathing attack on the RSS and BJP for ignoring the plight of refugees from Pakistan- occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK), the SOS-International, a refugees’ organisation, today alleged that the Central Government had no policy on Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference, SOS-International chairman Rajiv Chuni expressed surprise over the BJP’s stand in the Legislative Assembly on the issue of human rights violations in PoJK, but not uttered a word on the issues refugees living in Jammu and Kashmir facing.
He said a unanimous resolution was passed in the Parliament in 1994 saying that “the PoK is an integral part of India and it shall be vacated” but till today nothing has been done to implement the resolution. Chuni said thousands of displaced people from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were subjected to “genocide” in 1947 forcing the surviving members to leave their land. “We have been denied our rights and the Central and state government are totally apathetic towards us. We had expected that the BJP will solve our issues, but they have also let us down," Chuni said.
