Block Samiti chiefs elected unanimously

Sudesh, a resident of Madoudi Jatan village, was unanimously elected the chairperson of the Kalanaur Block Samiti today. Neelam of Pilana village was elected the vice-chairperson.
Similarly, Suresh, a resident of Titoli village, was unanimously elected chairperson of the Lakhan Majra Panchayat Samiti, while Sudesh of Gharonthi village became the vice-chairperson.
In a statement issued here today, Deputy Commissioner DKBehera said the elections for the Rohtak Zila Parishad and Meham Block Samiti could not be held today as the requisite norms had not been fulfilled.
ZP chairperson poll postponed in K’shetra
Kurukshetra: The process to elect the Zila Parishad (ZP) chairperson has been deferred indefinitely after all 17 members failed to turn up for the meeting called by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh at the Panchayat Bhawan here today. The support of at least nine of the 17 house members is required to be elected as the chairperson. Both the BJP and the INLD have claimed support from majority of the members.
