More than 100 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel donated blood at a camp as a part of the Raising Day celebrations of the 126 Battalion.
Commandant Randeep Sharma was among the senior officers who donated blood in the camp organised at the headquarters of the battalion here.
Sharma said the camp was organised as a part of the commitment to provide blood to the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Jammu, to help it cope with the shortage of blood.
Over 117 members of the CRPF, including senior officers, voluntarily participated in the camp.
“The CRPF is committed to its social responsibility and more blood donation camps will be organised in the future,” Sharma said.
There was enthusiasm among donors as many jawans volunteered.
The IRCS team was led by Naveent Kaur, Director, IRCS, Jammu.
Later, a plantation drive was also held by the unit.
