Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) launched 4G Wi-Fi service at the Srinagar International Airport here today. “BSNL, Kashmir, has added yet another feather in its cap by commissioning 4G-based Wi-Fi Hotspot services at the Srinagar International Airport,” a BSNL spokesman said.
He said the Wi-Fi services would be free for the first 15 minutes. “Passengers will have to login after turning on Wi-Fi services on their laptops or smartphones or any other wireless device. Then, a BSNL Wi-Fi prompt will pop-up on their device and the passengers will have to register and then they will be provided with a one-time password. After verification, they will be able to browse. with BSNL Wi-Fi Hotspot. The first 15 minutes will be free and after that if passengers want to continue, they will be redirected to payment gateway after selecting the desired plan,” he said.
The 4G Wi-Fi service was inaugurated by Asgar Samoon, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, during a function at the airport.
Speaking on the occasion, Samoon welcomed the initiative of the company and hoped that the new services will provide “succour to the passengers more importantly to the tourists who are visiting the picturesque valley”.
General Manager, Telecom, Kashmir, Salim Beg said the services would be extended to other parts of the Valley in future. DGM, Srinagar, MG Mufti and Director, Airport, RK Shinde were also present on the occasion.
