The life of Punjabi Sufi poet Bulleh Shah was brought alive at Tagore Theatre by the visually challenged students of Panjab University today. The students are members of the Inner Wheel Club.

The jam-packed theatre reverberated with applause after every part was meticulously essayed by the actors who seemed to have got into the skin of the character.

Being visually challenged did not pose any obstacle for the actors who surprised the audience with their emotional intensity.

The students of the Chandigarh Blind School also turned up to watch the dialogue delivery of their seniors.

The play was based on the life of Punjabi Sufi poet and philosopher who practiced the Sufi tradition of poetry established by various poets.

Bulleh Shah lived in the twilight of the Mughal Empire characterised by conflicts, rebellion and civil, religious strife and political chaos.

The play portrayed the times of Bulleh Shah and gave out a message to the audience for love and peace, indictment against intolerance, violence and hatred.
