Chandigarh, May 5

A 33-feet-long bus carrying relics of three Gurus will be flagged off tomorrow from Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib in Patiala, the SGPC said here today.

The statewide religious procession has been planned so that people can have “darshan” of these holy relics near or in their home cities.

Jathedars of all five Takhts, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal will flag off the yatra.

The bus will have relics of Guru Hargobind Sahib, Guru Teg Bahadar and Guru Gobind Singh on display and will pass through every district of the state. The yatra will culminate on May 20 at Anandpur Sahib, where the relics would be kept at Takht Kesgarh Sahib.

Two relics are related to Guru Hargobind Singh — a 46-inch-long sword and a 22-inch-long whip. There is a ‘Siri Sahib’ (sword) related to Guru Teg Bahadar that has “Sat Sri Akal Guru Teg Bahadar” engraved on it. There are ten relics of Guru Gobind Singh. Amongst the swords exhibited, one sword was gifted by Rai Kalha. These relics also include ‘Chola Sahib’, manuscript, hair with comb and turban, a 20-inch-long iron arrow, ‘Siri Sahib’, a wooden spear and five arrows.
