The police are still groping in the dark in the case of carjacking at the gunpoint from Kharar on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. Talking to Chandigarh Tribune, Inspector Vijay Kumar, Station House Officer of the Kharar City police station, said the police were scrutinising the footages of CCTV cameras installed in the shops located near the crime spot in front of the Kharar Civil Hospital here.
Notably, three motorcycle-borne youngsters, carrying a pistol and an axe, had taken the brand new Toyota Liva car from Mani Majra-based Pradip Rana at around 12 am yesterday. Rana, who was using the car as Uber cab, was called by a woman to pick her up from there. The miscreants, who had come on Bullet motorcycle, had taken away the cab, his purse and three cellphones at gunpoint.
