Samrala, December 8

A number of people of nearby villages who had come at Samrala Road, Machhiwara, to draw money from banks protested against non-payment.

They raised slogans against bank employees and Prime Minster Narendra Modi. The protesters led by Amandeep Singh Ranwan, Gurmeet Singh Sehjomajra and Parminder Singh Udhowal alleged that demonetisation had caused trouble to the poor.

People were forced to stand in long queues for their own hard-earned money. They warned that they would widen their protest if the working of banks was not brought in order soon.

They also warned that they would vote against the Modi government in the coming state Assembly elections for this anti-people act.
