In the elections for two posts of members of the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) for Punjab, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Goyal and Vaidya Jagjit Singh were declared winners today.
There were seven candidates for the two posts in Punjab from the ayurveda system of medicines. Both these candidates won the elections with a margin of more than 3,000 votes. There were a total of 11,200 ayurvedic doctors in Punjab and Chandigarh.
The Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM) is a regulatory body for traditional medicines. The Central Council for Indian Medicine elections are being held in 19 states.
