Chintpurni temple to have sewerage system

The Chintpurni Temple Trust has decided to lay a sewerage system, which will serve the shrine and surrounding areas.

Deputy Commissioner (DC)-cum-Commissioner of the temple trust Abhishek Jain today said the entire amount would be spent by the trust. A detailed project report has been received from the Irrigation and Public Health Department and forwarded to the Art, Languages and Culture Department for the final approval. The project will cost around Rs 16 crore.

Abhishek said public places, houses, commercial areas, hotels and rest places would be connected to the sewerage system. He said due to the hilly terrain, the sewerage system would have three separate treatment plants. Land for the construction of the three treatment plants, along with the first instalment of Rs 2.5 crore, had been handed over to the executing agency, he said.

The DC said a multi-purpose complex, to cost around Rs 45 crore, was coming up near the shrine for the welfare of tourists. Funds for the complex were being shared equally by the temple trust and the Asian Development Bank. The facility would have parking lots, tourist information counters, a commercial complex, waiting halls and conveniences.
