As a petition filed in public interest by advocate HC Arora came up for hearing, counsel for the state told the Punjab and Haryana High Court that the Haryana Government was considering the withdrawal of circulars.

He was seeking the quashing of two circulars issued by the Haryana Vigilance Department, putting fetters on powers of the officers to conduct raids on corrupt government officials for arresting them red-handed.

At the Haryana Government’s request, the PIL has been deferred for further hearing to September 16.
