City lad tops Indian National Mathematical Olympiad

Tarush Goyal, a Class-XI student of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, has done the city proud by topping the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO).
Tarush shares the top spot with Aneesh Garg, a student of Class XI, Bhavan Vidyalaya.
Both boys have achieved the All-India Rank 1 by scoring 90 out of 102 marks.
Tarush and Aneesh are followed by Pranav Goyal of Class XI, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, who bagged the All-India Rank 5 by scoring 77 marks. Rahul, a student of Class XI, bagged the All-India Rank 9 with 74 marks.
The Mathematics Olympiad is conducted under the aegis of the National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM).
WHAT IS INMO
The Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) is a high school mathematics competition held annually in India since 1989. It is the second tier in the Indian team selection procedure for the International Mathematical Olympiad and is conducted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) under the aegis of the National Board of Higher Mathematics (NBHM).
