The Mussoorie police said the youngsters turned up at the hotel in a Polo car (PB 10 FE 9500) and booked a room. The employees on duty asked them to show any document to support their identification and pay the booking amount in advance. But the tourists thrashed the staffers – Sumari Lal Nautiyal and Jivanand – who were taken to St Mary’s Hospital, said the hotel management.

But the Ludhiana lads, namely Surjeet Singh, Jalpreet Singh, Asleef Singh and Sandeep Singh, have a different story to tell. They held the hotel staff responsible for the brawl. “We reached Mussoorie all the way from Hemkund Sahib yatra. We were tired so requested the hotel management to allot us a room for which we would pay in the morning along with submission of identity cards. But when they refused, we decided to leave the hotel but they didn’t allow us to do so. This followed a spat,” they alleged.

The tourists alleged that the hotel staffers damaged their car and the latter accused the former of breaking furniture and flower pots in the hotel. The hotel is being run by Ramesh Kumar from Rajasthan on lease.

The police pacified them and the matter was resolved. Mussoorie police station in charge NS Namboori said, “Any sort of violence will not be tolerated. Both sides have been warned of legal action in case they indulge in such activities in future.”
