Ludhiana, January 15
The Civil Hospital is finally under the surveillance of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras. A non-governmental organisation, Ahsaas Foundation, today installed security cameras on the hospital premises.
“After incidents of thefts being reported at the hospital, we thought of lending a helping hand by installing CCTV cameras on the premises. Presently we have installed four cameras. If the need arises, we will arrange more cameras,” said Sangeeta Bhandari, a member of the foundation.
It has been nearly a year that talks for installing CCTV cameras at the Civil Hospital have been going on. However owing to fund crunch, officials had been dilly dallying the process.
Senior Medical Officer Dr Parwinder Pal Singh Sidhu said he appreciated the step taken by the NGO as it would help them in the surveillance of the hospital.
“We have also written to the higher authorities to install CCTV cameras,” he said.
