A major portion of the Khelani-Goha road got washed away after a cloudburst hit the area this afternoon.
Several trees were uprooted in the flashfloods that followed the cloudburst and agricultural land was damaged. However, there were no human casualties.
Aftab Ahmed, a police officer, said, “Cloudburst in the Dral Nullah near Higher Secondary School, Goha, around 1 pm today washed away a major portion of the road. There were boulders and debris all over it.” The Khelani-Goha road stretch is the only road connectivity to thousands of people living in the areas of Marmat and Goha.
Army personnel later cleared the debris and rescued people who were struck on sides of the nullah.
