Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar said he wanted to develop Keorak village, adopted by him under Vidhayak Adars Gram Yojna, as a model village.
Khattar was in the village to address a public meeting today. Khattar announced a grant Rs 3.5 crore for the development of four ponds in the village and setting up of a water treatment plant. He also announced the widening of the Keorak- Geong and Keorak –Teek roads.
He said panchayats in villages with a population of more than 10,000 would be re-designated as ‘maha gram panchayat’ and such villages would be provided amenities on a par with urban areas. Khattar directed the RP Gupta, DC, to send a project report for laying sewer lines in the village.
The CM said when the BJP assumed power in the state, power companies were running in to Rs 33,000 crore deficits, but the government decided to pay the amount to the companies out of the state funds. The government could not waive power bills, but the fine levied for delayed payment could be waived and the consumers could be given facility of clearing their outstanding bills in instalments.
