Chief Minister Harish Rawat will felicitate 12 statehood agitators from the Dhanaulti Assembly constituency at a function at Agrora village in the Pratap Nagar block in the Pratap Nagar Assembly constituency on February 27. Government Inter College at Agrora village will be renamed after Hansa Dhanai, who attained martyrdom in the police firing at Mussoorie during the statehood movement.
Pratap Nagar MLA Vikram Singh Negi has written a letter to Nainbagh block Congress president Jot Singh Rawat requesting him to bring along 12 andolankaris, who will be honoured by the Chief Minister at Agrora village on February 27.
The 12 persons to be honoured are Sumer Chand Kumain (Majgaon Saklana village), Vinod Semwal (Than village), Baldev Singh Kaindi (Kimora village), Shyam Singh Chauhan (Pantwadi Katal village), Rjendar Bijalwan (Bandasari village), Kishan Singh Kaintura (Nainbagh), Mahipal Singh (Hanswan Gaon), Sachendar Semwal (Nainbagh), Mahipal Singh Rawat (Hanswan Gaon), Uday Singh (Thatyud), Mohammad Ashraf Kanatal and Vijendar Bhatt from Majepur village in the Jaunpur block of the Dhanaulti Assembly segment.
Jot Singh Rawat said efforts were being made to inform the 12 persons so that they could reach Agrora village to be honoured by the Chief Minister.
