Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will inaugurate the International Shivratri Fair here on February 18.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sandeep Kadam said Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh would inaugurate the fair, while Governor Kalyan Singh would be the chief guest on the concluding day.
He said preparations were on track and invitation cards were being dispatched for the fair to be held from February 18-24.
The DC said the Chief Minister would take part in the first Jaleb (religious procession) which would be led by Madhorai, the presiding deity of the festival, on February 18.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister would inaugurate a panchayat office and a mahila police station and lay the foundation stone of a bridge parallel to the British-era Victoria Bridge on the Beas, a water scheme and a Dev Sadan.
The DC said the Governor would take part in the final Jaleb on the last day of the festival, while Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur would take part in the middle Jaleb on February 21.
He said local, national and international artistes had been finalised for the cultural programmes and a water-proof pandal had been erected for the cultural programmes to protect people from rain.
He said all security arrangements were in place, patrolling had been intensified and a traffic plan had been prepared for the festival. A tight security would be provided to the deities and CCTV cameras would be installed in and around the venue of the fair.
