Hoshiarpur, July 9

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) chief Simranjit singh Mann said Colonel Daljit Singh Randhawa, and not Subhas Chandra Bose, was the hero of World War II in 1945 as he had saved the North East Frontier Agency (NEFA) while Bose was busy attacking British India. He was addressing a press conference here today. He came to Hoshiarpur to pay obeisance to Colonel Randhawa at his bhog and antim ardas.

Mann said, “If Colonel Randhawa had not saved NEFA in a close battle at Kohima, forcing Japanese to retreat, the history of India would have been different."
