Chandigarh, May 13
The operation theatre (OT) complex at the Command Hospital, Chandimandir, has been renovated and upgraded with state-of-the-art equipment to handle super-specialty surgeries.
The new equipment includes a laminar flow system to minimise the risk of infection during complicated surgeries besides contemporary medical gadgets to assist the surgeon.
A “multi-code automated emergency response system” has also been put in place to ensure immediate and appropriate expert response to a medical, fire or an administrative emergency anywhere in the hospital. Thus, bringing the facilities on a par with international standards.
In addition, an audio-video patient information system for updating patient’s attendants has also been put in place.
A separate intensive care wing comprising the OT complex, ICU, post-operative surgical care unit and the post-anaesthesia care units has been established.
The new facilities were inaugurated by General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Lt Gen KJ Singh today.
