CHANDIGARH
The state government has, in consultation and with the concurrence of Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court, constituted Commercial Court for each district. A spokesman of the Justice Department said it has also appointed the First Additional District Judge in each district, as the Judge of the said Commercial Court, to try the cases specified under the Commercial Courts, Commercial Division and Commercial Appellate Division of High Courts Act, 2015 within their respective area of jurisdiction. A notification to this effect has been issued by the department. TNS

Kendriya Vidyalaya at Jind village

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved a proposal to set up a Kendriya Vidyalaya at village Budain in district Jind. An official spokesman said that a proposal to this effect has been approved by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. The Kendriya Vidyalaya would be set up on approximately 9 acres of common land offered on lease by the village panchayat at a rate of Re one per acre per year for 99 years for this purpose. TNS

2 killed in road mishap

A woman and her son were killed in a road accident at Kinana village of the district on Tuesday when their motorcycle was hit by a heavy vehicle. The deceased have been identified as Shanti Devi and Ramphal. They were residents of Karela village. Dharambir Singh, Jind SHO, said, “The accused driver is unidentified. He fled the spot.” The driver has been booked. OC

11 hurt in clash over water

As many as 11 persons, including women, were injured in a clash between two groups in Chhabili village here on Tuesday. The injured are undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital. The incident took place when members of one of the groups attacked the other over a dispute of drainage of dirty water. The police are probing the matter. TNS

Two commit suicide

Sonia of Chamrara village consumed a poisonous substance due to her illness and domestic problems on Monday. She was taken to a private hospital where she died. Amar Singh (35), a resident of Vikas Nagar here, hanged himself in his room. His relatives took him to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. TNS

Seven booked on molestation charge

The police have booked seven persons on the charge of molesting a minor girl of Damala village in Yamunanagar district. All 7 were booked on the complaint of the victim’s mother. TNS
