The Punjab Congress Express, a minibus carrying senior party leaders, started from Jakhepal village on Tuesday for visiting three villages of the Sunam Assembly. Former CM Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Bhadaur MLA Mohammad Sadique, Ajit Inder Mofar and several other leaders from Sunam addressed the nukkad meetings held at Jakhepal, Dhadrian, Sheron and Sunam. Bhattal also talked about supply of duplicate pesticides, the SYL canal and lack of job opportunities.

Youth Cong rally at Dhuri

State Youth Congress workers, led by general secretary Dalvir Singh Goldy, took out a two-wheeler rally in Dhuri town and villages of the constituency onTuesday. The rally was dedicated to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. State YC president Amarpreet Singh Lalli and Punjab YC affairs incharge Rajinder Moond also took part. Goldy said he had launched a signature campaign to get national martyr’s status for Bhagat Singh.

Protesting teachers refuse to climb down water tank

Nine teachers protesting atop a water tank in Jalalabad have refused to climb down. Meanwhile, the administration on Tuesday arranged for collection of blood samples of the protesters who were feeling uneasy. The same have been sent for tests.
