Karnal, October 23
The case of molestation of an LKG student of St Theresa’s Convent Senior Secondary School will be transferred to the crime branch. This was confirmed by Superintendent of Police Pankaj Nain today.
Meanwhile, demanding a CBI inquiry, the family members of the accused today took out a procession here. They handed over a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to the SP in support of their demand.
They had earlier demanded a CBI inquiry in it and sent letters to the CM, DGP, Karnal Range IGP, Karnal SP and Karnal DC in support of their demand.
Deepak, brother of accused Rakesh, led the protest and claimed it was a conspiracy against the four persons arrested in the case. He said the police should inquire the CCTV footage of the school.
He alleged the case of molestation was baseless, as the toilet where the incident reported to have occurred had no other entry point except the main door and such kind of incident could not take place there.
In this case, the police had arrested four of the cleaning staff members of the school on the complaint of the parents of the LKG student.
The school administration had also conducted an inquiry in it and handed over some documents and a CD to the SP, claiming it to be a conspiracy to malign the image of the school.
The school authorities had reportedly alleged that the parents of the victim had conspired a concocted story in connivance with a school employee to spoil the image of the school. The CD and the documents were being probed by the police.
SP Nain said the family members demanded a CBI inquiry in the case, but they had recommended an inquiry from the crime branch, which would start the probe soon.
