Mason falls from sixth floor, dies
Jitender, a mason and a native of Damoh in Madhya Pradesh, fell from the sixth floor of a building at SRM University in Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Rai. He was taken to the Sonepat Civil Hospital, where doctors declared brought dead. On his brother Manoj’s complaint, a case has been registered against Vice Chancellor Dr Raja Rajan, Registrar Manish Bhalla, contractor Sanjay Aggarwal and two others. —OC

Woman killed
Sumitra (50), a widow of Liwaspur village, was attacked with lathis and sharp-edged weapons by miscreants on Saturday when she was returning to her house from an industrial unit located on the Liwaspur- Rathdhana road. After a night-long search by her son Praveen Kumar, villagers and police personnel, she was found unconscious in the fields this morning. She was brought to the local civil hospital but doctors referred her to the PGIMS, Rohtak, where she declared brought dead. —OC

Girl found dead in gutter
A one-year-old girl was found dead in a gutter in Sector 29 (part-II) on Sunday. The girl was reported missing Saturday. SHO Ram Kumar of Chandnibagh police station said the girl seemed to have fallen into the manhole while playing there last evening. —TNS

Retired Gurgaon judge robbed in Mathura
A retired judge from Gurgaon was robbed of his bag containing cash and important papers by three motorcycle-borne miscreants. The police said the incident took place near the Kosi Kalan bus stand in Mathura on Sunday. The three motorcycle-borne persons rode up alongside the vehicle of JN Yadav and stopped him. — PTI
