Mussoorie, August 9
The Central School for Tibetans (CST) adhering to the awakening call given by the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development, inaugurated a fortnight-long celebration themed ‘Azadi- 70 Yaad Karo Kurbani’ here today. The events will conclude on August 23.
School Principal Anita Narula threw light on the sacrifices made by legendary leaders for independence. SC Rauto convened the programme. Students presented a series of colourful cultural programmes in synchronisation with the Tibet Week celebration of the school. Rauto said the CST, Mussoorie, was committed to conduct various activities to internalise the spirit of nationalism and a sense of patriotism among students.
According to the school administration, the programme was launched on the historic anniversary of the Quit India Movement. Asit Katayan, chief coordinator of the school, highlighted the significance of the day in the history of freedom struggle of India.
