Cultural programmes with patriotic themes were the highlight of the annual function of Guru Ram Rai Public School, Jagjeetpur, here today. Students presented Saraswati vandana, folk, cultural, and classical dance items, which were appreciated by everyone.
District Sports Officer Sunil Kumar Dobhal lighted the traditional lamp to inaugurate the function. He urged students to take part in co-curricular activities and sports too as these would enhance their academic performance.
BHEL cricket coach Inder Mohan Barthwal stressed the need of practising yoga and improving one’s general knowledge to prepare better to live in the competitive world.
School principal Vibhakar Dabral paid tribute to Guru Ram Rai Education Mission founder Mahant Indresh Charan Das saying besides modern education, the mission was providing moral education in educational institutes across the country.
DP Mamgain, a special representative of the Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission, Dehradun, also addressed the gathering. Certificates and prizes were given away to students.
