Patiala, June 9
A factory of TI Cycles of India, one of the leading bicycle manufacturers in the country, and a part of the Murugappa Group, was inaugurated in Rajpura by Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Minister of Finance and Planning, Punjab, today.
Set up with the support of the state government, This factory will cater to the growing demand of bicycles in the region. The plant has been built at a cost of Rs 105 crore and has a capacity to manufacture 2.50 lakh bicycles per month.
The plant will have three modern painting lines with German applicators. It is an environment-friendly unit with zero discharge and100 per cent recycling of water. It will soon have a 350 kW rooftop mounted solar panel to take care of the energy needs of the unit. Located in Sandharsi village, this will provide employment to 3,000 persons. — TNS
