Chamba, February 7
Keeping in view the needs of elders, Deputy Commissioner Sudesh Mokhta today inaugurated a day care centre for elders at the district headquarters here. The day-care centre will provide much-needed meeting point to senior citizens.
Speaking after the inauguration, the Deputy Commissioner said that the centre was the first of its kind in the district. It would be helpful to the elders, assuring that the administration would shortly hold a meeting with the district senior citizens welfare society and their needs would be taken care of to the extent possible.
“In the present context, the elders have also an important role in the family and the society. Therefore, it becomes our responsibility to understand the signification of this treasure”, the Deputy Commissioner stated. Earlier, PC Oberoi, president of the district senior citizens welfare society, honoured the Deputy Commissioner. — OC
